Actually refers to a group of related stones: aluminum silicates. Hardness varies from 5 - 6, about the hardness range of opal. Probably work real well in a necklace or collection; not my first choice for a ring stone.
M-577- SCAP: A Portuguese variation designed and faceted by John. A clean stone, 7.8 mm, and 1.86 cts. $ 88.50
This is one of the more unique feldspars- a variety of Labradorite- because it exhibits beautiful iridescent color effects. It is generally found in Finland (and recently, Madagascar) as a semi-transparent grey material, and only rarely are pieces clear enough to consider facetable, and these are highly prized for their interesting patterns of reflection and iridescent effects. These are generally mounted in pendants and earrings.
F-533-SPEC: Spectrolite: a rare variety of laboradite (feldspar). It is a very interesting stone with a blue "glow" that can be visible when the lighting is just right. It is a Type 3 stone: inclusions are normal and expected in this material (and they also give each one a special character). Sphene: fairly difficult to find most of the time, generally classed as a rare (or collector's) stone. It has enjoyed periods of acceptance in jewelry, historically when availability was suitable for mass marketing. This is a soft stone: hardness of 5 to 5.5 (about that of opal) so mounting in pendants and earrings is most common. Rings should be designed to protect the stone from shocks-n-knocks...
This is one of my favorite varieties of stone; interesting to see the differences in how it looks in different lighting situations.

R-630-SPHENE: This is a round brilliant, Faceted by John. It measures 6.0 mm, 1.03 cts. $235.00
Spinel is a natural stone that comes in a wide variety of colors. The finest stones come from Sri Lanka and Burma with some smaller stones coming from India as well. The hardness is 8 and it makes a very durable stone for settings. The less grey tones in the gem the more valuable piece. Typical inclusions are veil type or small scattered crystals. The blue and purple stones often are less vibrant and more "sleepy" appearing.
M-519-SPIN: Here is another of the Tunduru Spinels. It is a mauve color with lots of pink highlights and flash John cut this one in a round standard brilliant and it is .65 cts and 5.1 mm. $225.00
M-553-SPIN: This is a medium/deep beautiful blue, cut in a round brilliant by John. Spinel is an excellent gem for all jewelry uses. This one does have an inclusion that is concealed by the lush color and sparkle of this gem. This one is 7.6 mm, 1.95 cts. just $ 562.50
M-554-SPIN: This is a clean, deep blue spinel, with a color that resembles a fine sapphire. The size is 7.1 mm, so it should be easy to mount into a commercial mounting- a great gift for that special someone! It weighs 1.93 cts, just $ 508.50
M-586-SPIN: Spinel- This is a beautiful blue spinel, with only one small inclusion off to one side. It is a deep blue, faceted by John in a square antique cushion design. It is 8 mm, 2.70 cts! $ 748.50

F-411B-SUNS: Here is an interesting color change gem! It has both green and pink colors playing throughout the stone. Depending on the lighting the stone can appear more pink or more green. There is also some schiller play in this stone. It is an antique square cushion cut. It is 10.3 mm and 5.16 cts. The stone was faceted by Barb. $541.50
F-413B-SUNS: This is a warm cherry red stone with flashes of orange and gold. The cut is my own design, called the "Step Where? Square". This stone has lots of sparkle. It does have schiller but most of it is not visible from the table. Cutter is Barb. It is 7.7 mm and 2.88 cts. $ 648.00

F-475B-SUNS: Oregon Sunstone- Faceted by Barb in a deep red, cut corner square. It measures 8.3 x 8.1 mm, 2.37 cts. This is a clean stone with a Dust Devil rating of "triple A red" and only enough schiller to make a positive gem ID. $ 708.00
F-476B-SUNS: Oregon Sunstone- it is s beautiful deep red- prime color- faceted by Barb into an omni egg design. This one has great color, with only a minor flaw on the crown. This would be an excellent choice for a beautiful pendant! It measures 10 x 8.2 mm, 2.36 cts. $ 708.00

F-481B-SUNS: Sunstone- cut by Barb in a square brilliant design, this one is a clean stone that has red, green, and schiller in it. What makes it really cool is that it has a color change in certain types of light, being more pink/orange in incandescent light, and more green and red (see picture) in fluorescent light. F-501-SUNS: This a fiery red/orange stone with lots of character and interest. John faceted this in the vertical bar cut- a rectangle shaped stone where the table is slightly domed with a series of facets that go horizontally across the stone, decreasing in height as they come to the girdle on the ends of the stone. This one has some schiller that adds to the unique look of the stone. A great gem! It is 12.3 mm X 6.5 mm and is 4.14 cts. $1552.50
F-502-SUNS: Another hot looking rock from Oregon. This one is only slightly lighter in color than the one listed above. Lots of flash and great clarity. John is the cutter. It is a round standard brilliant, 8.4 mm and 2.08 cts. $780.00

A variety of Zoisite; generally heat-treated to enhance the color. Depending on the orientation of the stone, it can appear blue to violet. Named after it's country of origin, Tanzania.
Z-513-TANZ: Tanzanite- This one is a fine violet, faceted in a modified Portuguese cut by John- great color and lots of sparkle! It does have a couple of minor inclusions not visible in normal viewing. It is 5.5 mm, .81 cts just $ 262.50
